摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed and inexpensive electrode wire for wire electric discharge machining which is particularly an ultra-fine electrode wire having an outer diameter of 0.03-0.07mm as compared with an electrode wire having a two-layer structure in which brass plating is applied onto a conventional piano steel wire. SOLUTION: Firstly, a central core material comprising a precipitation hardening type or combined strengthening type copper alloy containing copper as a main component is made, a copper-zinc alloy layer containing 30% or more of zinc is applied thereon and the outer diameter is 0.03-0.07mm. Secondly, the first central core material is constituted by a copper-silver alloy. Thirdly, tensile strength of the second electrode wire is made to 1,400 MPa or higher. Fourthly, in the second electrode wire, the copper-silver alloy forming the central core material makes a complete annealing wire having the outer diameter of 2.6mm or longer as an original wire and tensile strength is made to 1,400 MPa or higher by repeatedly imparting work hardening by wire drawing processing and combined strengthening by a heat treatment. Fifthly, conductivity of the fourth electrode wire is made to 40% or more. Sixthly and seventhly, the first central core material is constituted by a copper-beryllium alloy and a copper-niobium alloy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
