PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sorting mechanism that is capable of facilitating a cleaning work performed upon the periodical check, in addition to the long-term continuous operation and that is applicable to various materials to be sorted, and to provide a system using the same. SOLUTION: The magnetic sorting mechanism is provided with a hollow rotative tube 5 which is free to rotate, in which a foreign material comprised of a weak magnetic material receives the material to be sorted at least existing therein as an admixture on the surface, a permanent magnet 6 which is arranged to the longitudinal direction in the hollow part of the rotative tube 5 and produces the predetermined magnetic field to the longitudinal direction. The rotative tube 5 is released by means of the rotation after conveying the material to be sorted when the material to be sorted is supplied to the surface of the rotative tube 5. The permanent magnet 6 imparts magnetic force to the material to be sorted when the material to be sorted is released. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
