摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a light source device, capable of supporting high luminescence with high reliability while having a small simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A lamp house 14 is separated into two chambers by a reflector 11 as a boundary. The reflector 11 reflects light from a discharge lamp 10. A first blowing air vent 16 is opened in a chamber at the reflecting surface side of the reflector 11. A second blowing air vent 17 and an exhaust port 18 are opened in a chamber at the back surface side of the reflector 11 opposing each other. A ventilating hole 19 communicating the two chambers is opened in a lamp holder 12. Air from a cooling fan is taken into the lamp house 14 through the air vents 16, 17 and evacuated through the exhaust port 18. With this configuration the discharge lamp 10, the reflector 11, and the lamp house 14 can be efficiently cooled and the cooling fan can be disposed at the blowing air side, eliminating the necessity of thermal resistant specification for the cooling fan, achieving a dramatically improved bearing life, and thus providing a high reliable cooling device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
