IMAGING DEVICE AND INTERCHANGEABLE CARTRIDGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which enables a user to confirm the cause of an unsatisfactory image quality or a latent defect in a photoreceptive layer.

SOLUTION: The imaging device is provided with a photoconductors 20 and 205 which have a photoreceptive surface layer 305 and form an electrostatic latent image; developing rolls 40 and 215 for applying toner to the electrostatic latent image; a transfer roll 95 for transferring the toner from the photoconductors to a print medium 75; fixing mechanisms 115 and 120 for fixing the image on the print medium; and a wear mark 310 which is formed as a single layer under the photoreceptive surface layer 305 on the photoconductors 20 and 205 and is made visually distinguishable from the photoreceptive surface layer 305 so as to visibly indicate a thinned part of the photoreceptive surface layer 305.
