<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproducing apparatus capable of starting reproduction of contents in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The content reproducing apparatus 10 includes a CPU 18, and the CPU 18 executes authentication processing with a memory card 12 at start of reproduction processing. When achieving success in the authentication processing, the reproducing apparatus 10 can acquire a decoding key of encrypted music data from the memory card 12. Thus, the reproducing apparatus 10 can use the decoding key of encrypted contents data separately acquired to decode the data and reproduce music data. In the authentication processing above, certificate data are used in the order started from certificate data corresponding to a registered identification number and the identification number is revised into a succeeding identification number every time the authentication processing is failed. As a result, the identification number of the certificate data achieving success in the authentication processing is registered and used for the next and succeeding authentication processing. Since the reproducing apparatus does not use the certificate data that cannot be used, the wasteful authentication processing can be omitted and the reproducing apparatus can start reproduction in a short time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
