摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform for a fiber reinforced plastic capable of sufficiently preventing the lowering of the strength of an obtained FRP, easy to shape and capable of holding a shape after shaping, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: A plurality of beams 8 containing a thermoplastic resin 5 are allowed to pierce through a laminate 4 obtained by laminating sheet parts 3 made of reinforcing fibers 3a and heated and melted to shape the laminate 4 to manufacture the preform 2. In this case, the amount of the thermoplastic resin suitable for holding the shape of the laminate after shaping can be freely adjusted by the beams 8. Therefore, by allowing the beams 8 to pierce through the laminate 4 to heat and melt the same, the thermoplastic resin can be infiltrated into the laminate 4 in proper quantities regardless of the skillfulness of a worker. Since the melting and curing of the beams 8 is controlled only by heat, the laminate 4 can be shaped in arbitrary timing after the beams 8 are melted and, after shaping, the shape of the laminate 4 at the time of shaping can be held by the cured thermoplastic resin.
