PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a die to manufacture a golf ball capable of performing precision processing in accordance with its previously designed dimensions easily and at a low cost. SOLUTION: A die base 13 is directly cut and machined by a cutting device 12 furnished with a cutting tool 14. The enveloping surface of a cutting blade 21 represents a virtual sphere by the cutting tool 14 being rotationally driven in the axial direction. The cutting tool 14 is displaced along the axial direction of three axes (x axis, y axis, z axis) orthogonal with each other.
