PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving method in liquid capable of enhancing the moving speed of an excavating machine such as a bucket in a liquid. SOLUTION: The method of moving a machine (e.g., the excavating machine such as the bucket 10) to be operated in a prescribed position in a liquid L (e.g., sludge, slurry, seawater, or others) in the liquid L includes steps of moving the machine (10, 10A or 10B) in the liquid in the state where it is enclosed by a cover 1A or 1B having a shape for minimizing the liquid resistance (e.g., streamline); and exposing the machine 10, 10A or 10B from the cover 1, 1A or 1B in order to operate the machine in the prescribed position in the liquid L (e.g., to execute an excavating work by the excavating machine).
