PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a readily dispersible pigment composition excellent in coloring force and stability of color with time the lapse of and to provide a method for producing the pigment composition. SOLUTION: The pigment composition is composed of a coloring pigment, an extender pigment and a resin, and the composition is obtained by carrying out dry grinding of a mixture containing the coloring pigment and the extender pigment at a weight ratio of (5:95) to (95:5) and containing both of the coloring pigment and the extender pigment, and the resin at a weight ratio of (90:10) to (10:90).
