PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specific highly curable maleimide compound giving a cured product of high gel fraction, to provide a resin composition containing the maleimide compound, and to provide the cured product of the composition. SOLUTION: The maleimide compound(A) is a reaction product from a compound(a) of formula(1)( wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is H or 2,3-epoxypropyl of the formula; R<SB>2</SB>is H, methyl or ethyl; R<SB>3</SB>is H, a 1-12C alkyl or halogen atom; R<SB>4</SB>and R<SB>5</SB>are each H or a 1-4C alkyl; and (a) is 0-10 ) and a maleimide group-containing monocarboxylic acid(b).
