PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone by which a user will not become bored and concern for battery power consumption is eliminated. SOLUTION: A CPU 3 performs screen saver when the start of charging a charger cell 17 is detected by a current detector 16 and displays a pattern varying with time on LCD. The CPU 3 stops the screen saver, when the full charge of the charger cell 17 is detected by the current detector 16. Consequently, the consumption of the charger cell 17 due to the operation of the screen saver is reduced, and the user is not bored during the charging operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
