PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge for optical disk which is used when an optical disk is to be inserted into a portrait-oriented optical disk driving device and from which the optical disk never drops and protrudes. SOLUTION: The cartridge is one for optical disk which is used in order to insert the disk into the disk driving device in which the rotary shaft of the disk is set to be in the horizontal direction, and an opening part for inserting and discharging the disk is positioned so that the optical disk can be inserted into and discharged from a shell on an opposite side to a shell face in which a window for drive head access is arranged, the opening part having no openable and closable lid, and pawls are provided on the opening part for inserting and discharging the disk in order to prevent the optical disk from being dropped and protruded from the cartridge.
