PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which ensures excellent wear-resistance, scratch resistance, and image stability in long-term use, a method for producing the electrophotogphic photoreceptor, an image forming apparatus, a process cartridge, and an image forming method using them. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer and a surface protective layer on a conductive support, the surface protective layer contains at least a urethane resin. The urethane resin contains a polymer comprising at least isocyanate and bridged polyol expressed by constitutional formula (1), in which R represents an alkyl group having a hydrogen atom and 1 to 5 carbon atoms alkyl group, and n is 1 to 5.
