PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the insufficiency and non-safety of the main function of an existing toothpick of removing food dregs in the mouth cavity in the process of using and to overcome the difficulty in the selection of the existing toothpick in the process of disposing food waste or recycling the food waste after a large quantity of food is consumed. SOLUTION: The above problems can be solved by using a cylindrical wild grass which is properly thin and whose culm becomes hollow when dried. The surface is smoother than that of wood, and the grass can be easily broken though it has quite a large flexibility in the cross direction and the increased strength when a force is applied in the longitudinal direction. In addition, there is a kind of grass whose culm is not hollow when dried. Though slightly inferior to other kinds, the flexibility of the grass is larger than that of the wood and the grass of this kind can be used as well. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
