A floor polishing machine comprises a single rotary tool disc, such as a brush 4, driven by an electric motor 2 via a vee-belt 14 and worm gear 3, the electrical control and switches for the motor being mounted on a handle grip 77a pivoted on the rear of the machine housing. The handle grip includes a pair of tubes 7, 7a which are enclosed at their lower end by a housing containing two capacitors 8, 8a; two microswitches are contained in a switch box 9 and are acted upon by a switch 12 for starting the motor via the capacitors. A lever 11 is provided for releasing the handle so that it may be moved into a different angular position and two transporting rollers 6 are mounted on the housing. Liquid is supplied from a container to the brush through a bore in the driven shaft 5, a magnetically-controlled valve for liquid being provided. |
