<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a higher light emitting efficiency by raising current density at the end of the light emitting surface of a light-emitting diode array of the center electrode structure. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting diode array comprises a center electrode type light-emitting diode portion in which ohmic contact layer 2 is provided at the center of light emitting surface 1 and the light emitting surfaces 1 in both sides of the ohmic contact layer 2 is controlled to emit the light. In this light-emitting diode array, the ohmic contact layer 2 is formed of a principal portion 2a provided through the center of the light emitting surface and a branching portion 2b extended in the direction crossing the direction where a bonding electrode is guided from the principal portion 2a. On this ohmic contact layer 2, an ohmic electrode 3 is provided in accordance with the shape of the principal portion 2a and branching portion 2b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
