<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residual quantity detection mechanism for a developer material, by which resistance unnecessary for a toner stirring member can be kept sufficiently small over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: In the detection mechanism, a sealing member 81, made of an elastic material, for preventing a toner leak is disposed between the pierced wall of a toner tank 49 for a second rotary shaft 90 and a second side-plate 88 for the second rotary shaft 90. Thus, on account of the configuration in which the flat slide face of the sealing member 81 is in firm contact with the second side-plate 88, the slide face can be easily coated by a high slide member 101 with small friction force. Therefore, even if the sealing performance of the sealing member 81 is improved by strongly compressing the sealing member 81 with the pierced wall and the second side-plate 88 in order to prevent toner from entering the slide face, an increase in resistance unnecessary for the rotation of the second rotary shaft 90 can easily be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
