PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in energizing amount to solenoid coils required for driving an armature. SOLUTION: The valve gear 13 is equipped with the armature 14 supported so as to reciprocate in an axial direction, and fixed cores 15, 16 for reciprocating the armature 14. A bottom end of a shaft portion 17 of the armature 14 is coupled to a stem 7 top end of an intake valve 6 of an internal combustion engine. The solenoid coils 21 of the fixed cores 15, 16 are energized and quenched to reciprocate the armature 14, thereby opening/closing the intake valve 6. The lash adjuster 27 is inserted between the stem 7 top end and the shaft portion 17 bottom end so as to compensate a clearance between the stem 7 top end of the intake valve 6 and the shaft portion 17 bottom end of the armature 14. The whole part forming at least an outer peripheral surface of the lash adjuster 27, or preferably all component structuring the lash adjuster is formed from nonmagnetic material.
