PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint device for a floor, which prevents a cover body from being damaged by the displacement of respective opposed parts in the direction of a mutual approach, by preventing foreign matter from intruding into a gap between an edge material and the cover body. SOLUTION: The edge materials 5a and 5b are fixed to the respective opposed parts 4a and 4b which face each other with a void 3 between the respective floors 2a and 2b of two adjacent buildings; a supporting body 6, which is protruded in the direction of an approach to one edge material 5a, is fixed to the other edge material 5b; and the void 3 between the respective edge materials 5a and 5b is closed with the cover body 7 for being supported by the respective edge materials 5a and 5b and coupled to the supporting body 6. An auxiliary cover body 10 is provided in the edge material 5a in the state of being angularly displaceable around an axis 8 parallel to a longitudinal direction in which the edge material 5a is elongated, so as to cover the gap 9 between the edge material 5a and the cover body 7.
