PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating upper structure of construction machinery, which can also be used for a more practical purpose by preventing rainwater etc. from accumulating in a counterweight having a unique shape. SOLUTION: This rotating upper structure 4 is equipped with the counterweight 18 which is arranged in the rear of its main body, and a door 20 which is arranged in the side part of the main body; and a protrusion 24, which is protruded below the door 20 from the end of the counterweight 18, is formed in the counterweight 18. A pipe member 50, which passes through in the vertical direction, is embedded in the protrusion 24. The pipe member 50 is opened on each of the top and under surfaces of the protrusion 24, and a drainage passage is formed inside the pipe member 50. Additionally, a door stopper 34, which is provided inside the door 20, is locked to the upper end opening of the pipe member 50 in a state in which the door 20 is opened, so that the door 20 can be kept in an opened position.
