PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting one-pack protective or decorative epoxy coating or adhesive composition containing an epoxy resin, an acid anhydride latent heat-activatable curing agent and an accelerator for the acid anhydride curing agent. SOLUTION: The accelerator comprises 2-phenylimidazole phosphate (particularly dihydrogen phosphate) and is used as an accelerator for an acid anhydride latent curing agent in a one-pack thermosetting epoxy composition.
