PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-toxic chondrogenesis promoter having slight side effects, or the like, useful as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent, or the like, for diseases derived from cartilage injuries such as arthritis and rheumatism. SOLUTION: The chondrogenesis promoter comprises glucuronic acid, a salt thereof or precursor thereof as an active ingredient. The prophylactic or therapeutic agent for diseases derived from cartilage injuries and a promoter for generating glucosaminoglucan and/or proteoglucan are provided, respectively.
