Support arm system comprises at least two arms (3, 4) for holding hand screwdrivers (6), and devices for storing positions in at least one axis. Devices are provided for determining positions from transmitters (7-9) of an absolute value system for at least three axes of the support arm system. The positions determined are stored in an electronic control device. At least two positions of the hand screwdriver relative to a screw are determined and stored. A rear arm is arranged on a frame (1) or stand so that it pivots horizontally. A front arm supports on its front end a holder (5) for the hand screwdriver. The front arm is connected to the rear arm or an intermediate arm so that it pivots horizontally and vertically. The front arm is pre-tensioned in its vertical position by a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder (16).
