<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee protecting airbag device easily and correctly positioning an expanded and inflated airbag with respect to an occupant even if it has an upwardly opening door different in distance in a vehicle lengthwise direction to the occupant at left and right opposite side edges. <P>SOLUTION: In the knee protecting airbag device S, the folded airbag is received in a case 13 with its vehicle rearward side covered by an airbag cover 37. The airbag cover 37 has the upwardly opening door 51 openable with a lower end 51 rotated upwardly and defining an opening 56 for allowing the airbag to protrude. The door 51 is arranged with a linear dimension of one 51b of the left and right side edges on a side closer to the occupant being short and with a linear dimension of the other 51c of the left and right side edges on a side distant from the occupant being long so that a front end 51a is along a vehicle crosswise direction when the door is opened and lies nearly in a horizontal direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
