<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and apparatus which is capable of increasing paper versatility, easily preventing or reducing counterfeiting at a low cost, and forming a print or the like which has the guarantee function as of an original. <P>SOLUTION: Based upon a gloss image data stored in a gloss image storage section 15, a gloss image visible due to a gloss difference between visible-image data stored in the image storage section 13 and the surface of the image is formed. Using a recording material that is the same as a recording materil on which the gloss image formed, a code image is formed as an invisible image, the code image being digital information into which embedded information input from embedded information input section 16 is converted by a code converting section 17.
