<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light-emitting element capable of improving emission efficiency by improving the uniformity of emission. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor light-emitting element comprises: a supporting substrate 1; a first contact layer 3 provided on the supporting substrate 1; a light emitting semiconductor layer 4, in which a first clad layer 4a and a second clad layer 4c are laminated via a light emitting junction layer 4b and which is provided on a first contact layer 3; a second contact layer 5 provided on the light emitting semiconductor layer 4; a first electrode 6 provided on the first contact layer 3 while the distance with the light emitting semiconductor layer 4 is maintained approximately constant in a horizontal direction; and a second electrode 7, whose end surface is positioned with an approximately constant distance from a peripheral portion to the inside of the second contact layer 5 and which is provided on the second contact layer 5.The light emitting semiconductor layer 4 and the first electrode 6 have a plurality of convex portions 41, 61 protruded in an approximately trapezoidal shape in a facing direction and concave portions 43, 63 of an inverse trapezoidal shape where the convex portions 41, 61 go in, and the distance between the both convex portions 41, 61 is approximately constant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
