PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel in which an organic electroluminescent medium layer or a cathode can be patterned in a free shape without deteriorating characteristics of an element and to provide a process for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescent display panel having an image display array made of a plurality of light emitting parts includes a substrate having a plurality of first display electrodes formed on the surface corresponding to the light emitting parts, a plurality of electric insulation barriers which project on the substrate to expose at least part of the first display electrode, a thin film of at least one layer organic electroluminescent medium formed on each part of the exposed first display electrode, and a plurality of second display electrodes formed on the thin film of the organic electroluminescent medium, and an overhanging part protruding in a direction parallel to the substrate is formed on the upper part of the barrier.
