PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum breaker using a vacuum valve superior in current breaking characteristics by stabilizing its reignition characteristics of a contact point alloy. SOLUTION: The contact of the vacuum breaker is made of a Cu-Cr series contact containing an conductive component consisting of Cu and an arc-resistant component consisting of Cr. Then, the total amount of Cr consisting of Cr particles having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 150μm, Cr solid-solved in a Cu matrix, Cr precipitated in the Cu matrix, and Cr component contained in a material which is not dissolved in an acid (acid non-soluble substance) is made to occupy 15 to 90 wt% in the contact, and the acid non-soluble Cr component is made to be 30 ppm to 3,500 ppm, and the amount of Cr solid-solved in the Cu matrix is made 0.005 to 0.5 wt%.
