PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller contamination detection apparatus for automatically and accurately detecting and informing of a time for cleaning a roller and/or a lifetime of the roller in an apparatus using the roller. SOLUTION: The roller contamination detection apparatus uses one or more sensors, detects and informs of the time for cleaning the roller and/or the lifetime of the roller by monitoring contamination on a surface of the roller.
