PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger for CO<SB>2</SB>refrigerant integrally punching a plurality of insertion holes therein. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger for CO<SB>2</SB>refrigerant is formed by connecting a pair of header parts 20 and 30 by a plurality of flat tubes 41 with fins 42 interposed between them and is used for a vapor compression type refrigerating cycle using CO<SB>2</SB>as the refrigerant. The header parts 20 and 30 are constituted by having: header joint parts 21 and 31 which have refrigerant space parts 23 and 33 penetrating in the width direction and insertion holes 26 and 36 for the flat tubes 41 communicated with the refrigerant space parts 23 and 33 from the outside; and header pipes 22L, 22R, 44L, and 44R which are so fixed that the both side ends of the header joint parts 21 and 31 are inserted therein to communicate the refrigerant spaces 23 and 33 with refrigerant channels of pipe inside 27.
