PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quiet diaphragm having high silencing effect by enlarging a silencing chamber without enlarging a pump itself. SOLUTION: A case storing a drive mechanism, a cylinder portion having a cylinder wherein a diaphragm portion integrally formed on a diaphragm main body is disposed, a cylindrical discharge valve integrally formed with the diaphragm main body, and a valve housing wherein an intake valve is disposed or the like are combined. A cover is provided on the outside of the valve housing, and a hole is formed on the case. A flow passage connecting a sealed chamber and a space formed by the case and the cylinder portion is formed. By reciprocating motion of the diaphragm portion, fluid flows into the space formed by the case and the cylinder portion from the hole on the case, and passes through the flow passage to enter the sealed chamber, thereby carrying out a pump action supplied to the outside through the intake valve, the diaphragm portion, and the discharge valve. The silencing chamber is structured by the sealed chamber, and the space formed by the case and the cylinder portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
