PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems of a conventional stencil printing press that since a retry function is not provided upon occurrence of a master clamp miss, a troublesome unjamming operation is required for a user every time when a master clamp miss occurs and a master for one plate as supply is wasted. SOLUTION: Based on a no master signal from a plate master sensor 54, a plate cylinder 2 is turned again until a plate supply waiting position is occupied. After the forward end of a master 16 finished plate making is returned by a specified feeding distance to the inverting pair roller 40 side by turning a drive roller on the upper side of the inverting pair roller 40 reversely by a specified amount, the drive roller on the upper side of the inverting pair roller 40 is turned forward again by a specified amount and holding of the forward end part of the master 16 finished plate making is retried by a clamper 4.
