PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing deionized water by an electric regeneration process, which method manufactures high-purity deionized water stably for a long period of time. SOLUTION: Equation 1 is expressed by an Sc value=γc/Ac. ((γc: electric conductivity (μS/cm) of concentrated water), (Ac: magnesium ion concentration (ppb) in the concentrated water)) is≥1R (R is the target specific resistance ((unit: MΩcm)) of the deionized water and is a constant selected from 1 to 18). In this connection, there is provided the method for manufacturing the deionized water by the electric regeneration process comprising supplying the concentrated water to a concentrating chamber S<SB>n</SB>, supplying the water to be treated and the concentrated water in such a manner that the flow direction of the concentrated water in a desalting chamber R<SB>n</SB>and the flow direction of the concentrate in the concentrating chamber face each other and regulating the Sc value of the concentrated water in the outlet of the concentrating chamber indicated by the Equation 1 to≥0.1R.
