TREATMENT METHOD OF WASTE WATER CONTAINING AMMONIA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of waste water containing ammonia, the method including a process of ammonia stripping to efficiently desorb ammonia with air in the minimum amount required. SOLUTION: The treatment method of waste water containing ammonia includes: an adsorption process to adsorb the ammonia component by bringing the waste water containing ammonia into contact with an adsorbent 8; an isolation process to isolate the adsorbed ammonia component by bringing the adsorbent 8 into contact with a regenerating liquid; a desorption process to desorb the isolated ammonia by blowing air into the regenerating liquid containing the isolated ammonia; and an ammonia decomposition process to decompose and remove the desorbed ammonia. The line velocity of the air blown into the regenerating liquid in the desorption process is varied in at least two stages in the range from 0.005 to 0.05 m/s. The line velocity of the air in the second and following stages is controlled to be higher than the velocity in the first stage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
