Bottle closure device comprising a double-cap unit

A closure device (100) for a bottle (200) has a top end portion (210) including a mouth (220) atop. The device (100) has an inner cap (110) for screwing to close the mouth (220), and an outer shell (120) enclosing and supporting the cap (110). The cap (110) is separable from the shell (120). The shell (120) has a peripheral wall (122) for enclosing and surrounding the bottle top end portion (210), and includes integrally an internal inverted collar (130) surrounding and locating the cap (110). The collar (130) has a lower rim and several resiliently deformable retaining formations , (134) projecting downwardly from the rim and disposed around the cap (110). Each formation (134) includes a lateral protrusion (136) on its inner surface engaging the cap (110) by its rim through a snap action, thereby retaining the cap (110) within the shell (120). The cap (110) and shell (120) are normally used together as a double-cap, while the shell (120) can be separated for use as a cup. <IMAGE>
