<p>A wireless communication system (100) includes a first cellular network (150) to serve terrestrial mobile stations and a second cellular network (110-1) to serve airborne mobile stations. Handover means facilitates handover of communications between the first network and the second network by producing information relating to the location of the mobile station (170) and deriving from this information a list of selected cells to be scanned by the mobile station for prospective handover. A wireless subscriber unit and method of cell re-selection are also described. In this manner, calls are not dropped when transferring a call from, say, an AGA non-terrestrial cell to a terrestrial cell.</p> |
