Two trestles 10 support a scaffolding plank 12 to provide an elevated working platform at a building site. Each trestle comprises two legs 16, 18 connected together at their upper ends by a transverse crosspiece 20 and having feet 26 at their lower ends. The plank 12 fits loosely between the crosspiece 20 and a frame comprising two parts 22 and 24 extending laterally from the legs 16,18. The crosspiece 20 and frame parts 22, 24 lie at an angle to the legs 16,18 so that in use the trestle assumes an attitude in which it is inclined to the vertical with its feet outward of its upper end. The trestles 10 may be nested together with the upper end of one within a frame part 22 of the other and the frame part 24 of the one between the legs 16,18 of the other. The trestles may have a screw clamp to hold the plank in place. |
