A fuel cell assembly provides for direct water delivery to water injection points in the active area of fluid flow field plates 40, which have gas flow channels 16 extending across them in a predetermined pattern, which defines the active area of the field plate. A distribution foil 41 has first channels 51, pressure baffle channels 52 and delivery channels 53, which transmit water from the injection points and into each gas flow channel 16 at a uniform pressure. A planar cover foil (42) overlies foil 41 to enclose channels 51, 52 and 53 and form conduits for the water flow. |
