<p>A method for the manufacture of a float comprises the following steps; providing a mould 10 having a first enclosure 12 opening to a second enclosure 14 of greater dimensions than the first enclosure. An inlet 16 into the first enclosure, the first and second enclosures together defining the shape of the float (30 figure 2). Injecting a plastic mixture containing a blowing agent into the inlet, such that the mixture passes through the first enclosure and then into the second enclosure and allowing the mixture to set thereby forming the float. The blowing agent may be an endothermic blowing agent which stops reacting below a certain temperature. The float, the mould and a fluid storage chamber (60 figure 3) including the float, which can prevent or allow the inflow of fluid to the chamber is also disclosed.</p> |
