<p>A face seal assembly is provided having an annular seal body (16) mounted in an axially moveable relationship to a seal support structure (14). A piston ring (50) is disposed between the annular seal body (16) and the seal support structure (14) forming a secondary seal. A first locator spring (52), which is an annular wave spring, is disposed between said seal support structure (14) and the piston ring (50) to urge the piston ring (50) in an axial direction. Optionally, a second locator spring (54), also a wave spring, may be disposed between the piston ring (50) and the seal support structure (14) for urging the piston ring (50) in a radial direction. <IMAGE></p> |
