Surfactant-free cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical composition contains a copolymer comprising (in wt.%): 1-50 N-vinyl heterocyclic units (I) or 1-50 mixture of units (I) and linear N-vinyl carboxamide units together with acrylamidoalkylsulfonic acid units (49.99-98.99%) and 0.01-8 crosslinked structure derived from monomers containing at least 2 double bonds. Surfactant-free cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical composition contains a copolymer comprising (in wt.%): 1-50 N-vinyl heterocyclic units of formula (I) or 1-50 mixture of units (I) and linear N-vinyl carboxamide units of formula (II) together with 49.99-98.99 acrylamidoalkylsulfonic acid units of formula (III) and 0.01-8 crosslinked structure (0.01-8%) derived from monomers containing at least 2 double bonds. n = 2-9; R, R<1>, R<2> = H, 1-30C alkyl or 1-30C alkenyl; R<3> = H, Me or Et; Z = 1-8C alkylene, and X = ammonium, alkali metal or alkaline earth metal ion.
