PURPOSE: To provide a separator plate trouble-free by burrs which are brought about at the opening edge of the manifold hole of the separator plate and degrade the battery property causing interference with gas flow between the gas passage and the manifold hole. CONSTITUTION: A step part, which is same as or deeper than the gas passage, is provided at the opening edge on the gas passage side of each manifold hole in the separator plate. It is desirable that the above step part has a taper so as to become deeper on the manifold hole side.
