BACK LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A back light assembly and a liquid crystal display using the back light assembly are provided to control a ratio of a lamp pitch to a gap between the center of a lamp and an optical plate so as to minimize a bright line. CONSTITUTION: A back light assembly(100) includes a frame(115), at least two lamps(120) arranged in the frame and an optical plate(130) for improving uniformity of the luminance of lights emitted from the lamps. In order to make bright lines of the lamps not be recognized from the outside of the optical plate, a ratio of a lamp pitch to a gap between the center of each lamp and the optical plate is 1.3 to 2.0. The transmission rate of the optical plate is 35% to 65%. The back light assembly further includes at least one optical sheet attached to the outer face of the optical plate to improve luminance uniformity.
