PURPOSE: A control method of an inverter air conditioner is provided to detect the abnormal state of the air conditioner by monitoring whether a run current of a compressor is maintained in a low-current state for over a determined time. CONSTITUTION: A control method of an inverter air con comprises steps of sensing the current operation current while a compressor is in an operation state(520); comparing the sensed current operation current with a reference value for deciding a low current in the current operation frequency of the compressor(540); calculating the time for which the current operation current maintains a state lower than the reference value for low-current decision(550); and stopping the compressor when the time for which the current operation current maintains the state lower than the reference value passes a predetermined time(560).
