INTELLIGENT ROAD SIGN

PURPOSE: An intelligent road sign is provided to reduce the consumption of energy by displaying road signs upon detecting a vehicle only. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle detector(110) is installed on a road surface detects the vehicle passing the road surface before a driver of a vehicle recognizes a road sign(100). An RF(radio Frequency) module(120) transmits a signal through the vehicle detector(110). A controller(130) is installed on a side of the road sign(100) and performs an ON/OFF operation on the road sign(100) according to a vehicle detection signal transmitted from the RF module(120) to display information related to traffic during a predetermined time interval. The vehicle detector(110) detects the axle number and a rear axle of the vehicle, a distance, and a wheel width to detect the kind of the vehicle.
