PURPOSE: A device for charging a battery through an ear-microphone jack of a telephone for a cellular phone is provided to perform a function of an ear-microphone by using the ear-microphone jack, and to charge a battery for the cellular phone, thereby reducing material cost. CONSTITUTION: An ear-microphone jack(100) is inserted by a charging plug or an ear-microphone plug. A voltage detector(110) checks a voltage. A charging circuit(120) charges a telephone for a cellular phone when the charging plug is inserted into the ear-microphone jack(100). An audio circuit(130) reproduces audio and microphone functions when the microphone plug is inserted into the ear-microphone jack(100). A switch controller(140) converts a switch toward the charging circuit(120) or the audio circuit(130), depending on whether the voltage is sensed. A controller(150) controls to check the voltage when the charging plug or the ear-microphone plug is inserted, and controls to convert the switch according to the sensed voltage.
