HEATING AND COOLING DEVICE USING HYDROGEN STORAGE ALLOYS

PURPOSE: A heating and cooling device using hydrogen storage alloys is provided to make the whole size of the heating and cooling device compact by varying the length of a damper for leading the flowing direction of sucked air to indoor and outdoor. CONSTITUTION: A heating and cooling device using hydrogen storage alloys comprises a housing(10) with air suction passages(11,12) and indoor and outdoor exhaust passages(13,14); a pair of reactors(20,25) oppositely installed to the air suction passage sides in the housing; a pair of rectilinear type guide grooves(91,92) oppositely formed to traverse the top and bottom surface of the housing in which each reactor is installed; a damper; indoor and outdoor blowing units forcibly sucking in the exterior air through the air suction passages and forcibly sending the air to the indoor and outdoor exhaust passages through the reactors; a hydrogen passage pipe(50) through which hydrogen flows; a pumping unit(60) connected to the hydrogen passage pipe to generate the forced sending force for forcibly sending hydrogen from one reactor to the other reactor; and a directional control valve(70) controlling the forced sending direction of hydrogen. The damper comprises a switching plate(42) rotatably installed in a space between the reactors; auxiliary switching plates(43) movably installed at the ends of the switching plate; guide members protruded on the upper end lower ends of the auxiliary switching plate to move along the guide grooves; and a rotating unit reciprocally rotating the switching plate within a predetermined angle range. The damper separably leads the air passing through the reactors to the indoor and outdoor exhaust passages.
