PURPOSE: A method for retrieving data of a mobile communication terminal is provided to designate information including phone book names, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses, and to simultaneously store the designated information, thereby displaying information only usable on an application program. CONSTITUTION: A system retrieves pre-stored data on an application program executed by a user. The system detects data usable on the executed application program among the pre-stored data of a phone book. The system displays the detected data of the phone book. When the user requests the data to be retrieved from the application program, the system informs the application program of a kind of the data. The phone book displays the kind of the requested data and a retrieved result. The phone book abandons a data kind improper to the requested data kind.
