PURPOSE: An automatic paper feeder for a printer is provided to prevent papers from being fed while being overlapped with each other by stably separating papers from each other regardless of deformation and sorts of papers. CONSTITUTION: An automatic paper feeder includes a paper stacking plate(10), a pickup device(20), a driving device(30) and a paper separating roller. The paper stacking plate(10) has a rear plate(11), side plates(12,12') and a lower plate(13) having a plurality of strips(13a). The pickup device(20) is provided to pick up a paper from the paper stacking plate(10). The pickup device(20) has a pressing plate(21), a pickup shaft(22) and a pair of pickup rollers(23,23'). The pressing plate(21) is installed on the rear plate(11) of the paper stacking plate(10). The pickup shaft(21) is rotatably coupled to the rear plate(11) of the paper stacking plate(10).
