PURPOSE: An apparatus for providing a caller identification service and an operation method therefor are provided to offer a caller identification image to a terminated mobile communication terminal when a call is terminated in the mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A data input unit(61) inputs an operation signal of a user, and inputs information of an origination-side mobile communication terminal. A database unit(66) manages detailed information of the user and mobile communication terminal information of each user. The database unit(66) manages caller identification information including caller identification image combination code information matched with a caller identification image generated according to the request of each user and detailed information of the caller identification image. A caller identification image processing unit(64) generates caller identification information according to the generation request of the caller identification image of each user, and registers the caller identification information in the database unit(66).
